This year Geekfest will be August 16-18. We had been running a small game in one of their available rooms. This year they are giving us a dedicated room to have a dungeon crawl similar to what we did for Chimeracon. This will be a smaller room and we will have smaller groups which also means a smaller staff needed at any one point. We would likely have groups going through all day that saturday. I think friday night would be for set up. What we need currently are ideas on what to do and how to set up, as well as a good look at how many would operate and who is likely to be part of that group.

Look: Geekfest discussion time started!
So, we will have one room that we can divide into 2. It will be a classroom sized room, so not huge, but with small groups coming in we can make it work pretty easily.
I am thinking 3 scenes. That will get folks into the room, then to the other half, then back so that are next to the exit.
Last scene should be some good combat, the other 2 I think should be a mix of fighting/puzzle. As it is a dungeon crawl and we have a cave event coming up, let's go dungeon as a theme.
Who has some good puzzle thoughts that we can build on?

I touched base with Tollan last night. He has the painted drop cloths and is willing to make another while I take a pile of pictures (for later publishing). Wendy had the torches last I knew, but I failed to ask about them. Can't hold a thought in my head...

Looking around I have several props that could point to some alchemist-type lab. I am thinking that it would be great for room 2, and once set up would not have to go through a quick change. If we go that direction then maybe the dungeon is a ruined castle of some sort? That could give us a basis for things to fight...

Prop update: I've got two drop cloths from Tollan, torches from Wendy, and robes from Dylan. Need another drop cloth, stalagmites, misc. alchemy fiddle faddle. Harbor freight didn't have canvas drop cloths in s.austin today. Also will post our plot notes tonight.

Three scenes, one room change. Need three art flats, at least three stone walls. (two acquired) At least five people working the game, plus one working the booth. Val will work the booth. Kim on Saturday.
Three person party is hired by an alchemist to break into his rivals lab and disrupt his experiments. Last week at the Alchemist club, his rival was bragging about his work and talking smack about the alchemist... And his Mom! That woman is a Saint! The party must not let the rival alchemist find them in his lab. It will insinuate guilt. Also, he'll kill the party.
Scene 1 antechamber Alchemist's assistant found. Only the assistant knows the magic word to open the door. If assistant is killed the players can not move on to the next room. Game over. When the door is opened, two more assistants enter the room and fight the players. Three robes needed.
Scene2 the alchemist lab Poisons Explosives After a certain amount of time, the Alchemist will be heard entering the building, and the players must escape through a small cave opening (under a table) in the side of the room.
Scene3 escape through the cave. Hideous monsters Stalagmites

Update... Scene 2 will have a cauldron bubbling with dry ice. Putting a face or appendage in it will cause it to melt off with acid, leading to death or dismemberment! Yay! A prominent bottle in the room contains a poisonous gas that will fill the room above four feet from ground. Get down or get killed! Another bottle contains a poisonous gas that will fill the room below four feet from ground. Get down AND get killed! Open both and your game is over. Gas will dissipate in about three minutes.
In need of actual props for this room. Anybody got an empty 3Liter I can play with?
Also scene three needs clarification of "monsters". Stalagmites in construction.
